Halloween is full of things we already know: pumpkins, black cats, witches, flowers, ravens, magic and a little bit of mystery.

We like all of that. But we also like asking one simple question:

What else could happen here?

A pumpkin can come alive. A witch can choose a flower-covered broom instead of an ordinary one. A cat sitting on a windowsill can become a magician who may or may not have done something strange to the pumpkin in his arms.

That is where our Halloween designs usually begin — with a familiar idea and a little unexpected twist.

A small story inside a design

We don’t want a seasonal design to be just a collection of Halloween symbols.

We like designs that make sense almost immediately, but give you something else to notice a moment later.

One of our countryside cats, for example, is getting ready for Halloween after growing his own pumpkins. Unfortunately, the pumpkins didn’t turn out quite as planned. So he comes up with another idea: one of them becomes a pumpkin-shaped ball.

Another cat is a gardener driving home with a truck full of flowers and pumpkins. His vintage truck has a strange gramophone-like horn, and a cloud of stars seems to be coming out of it. Somewhere along the way, one of the pumpkins has clearly acquired a personality of its own.

These little situations are what make a design feel like a story rather than just a seasonal graphic.

Familiar symbols, a little differently

Our Witchy Cats Plants collection naturally gives us plenty of room for Halloween: witches, Tarot-inspired characters, magical flowers, pumpkins, ravens and other mysterious details.

But our cats are rarely just there to look spooky.

They become characters with something to do.

Even a broom can become part of the story. In one design, our cat has a choice between traditional-looking brooms — and chooses the beautiful flower-covered one.

Honestly, why wouldn’t he?

Our Cottagecore Cats designs can enter the same season from a completely different direction: gardens, flowers, harvests, countryside life and cats finding themselves in slightly unusual situations.

The symbols may be familiar. The stories are ours.

Our autumn colors

Halloween has its classic colors, and we don’t want to lose that seasonal feeling.

But we don’t reach for a separate “Halloween palette” just because the calendar changed.

Our Halloween designs are built from the same colors we always use — coral, mustard yellow, berry, forest and leaf green, golden tan — the same system that runs through every CatnBloom collection. Halloween just changes which of them lead: the night tones (black, deep blue) come forward for backgrounds, coral and berry carry the pumpkins and magic, and mustard yellow stands in for candlelight or a harvest moon instead of summer bloom. For the Witchy side of the season, purple earns its own place too — witch hats, roses, potion bottles, even the night sky itself tend to lean into it, so it shows up as often as any color in our base palette, not as an occasional extra.

Some designs also change character depending on what they’re printed on. A detailed Tarot-inspired design can look completely different on a dark shirt, warm orange or yellow.

The result still looks like the season. It just doesn’t stop looking like CatnBloom.

Halloween gets a new visual trend almost every year.

We pay attention, of course. But we don’t want to make something simply because it happens to be popular this season.

Our goal is a little different: take something recognizable, give it a story, and make it feel like it belongs to CatnBloom.

More than a Halloween T-shirt

T-shirts and long-sleeve tops are an obvious part of seasonal dressing, whether you’re looking for something to wear to a Halloween event or simply want a little bit of the holiday in your everyday wardrobe.

But the same artwork can live on other things too — mugs, stationery and small gifts.

Sometimes you want a full Halloween look. Sometimes you just want a mug with a slightly mischievous cat on it.

Both work.

What we are looking for

Every season gives us a new set of familiar symbols to play with. For Halloween, those symbols happen to be particularly fun.

A pumpkin can have a personality. A broom can become a bouquet. A cat can become a magician.

And a familiar Halloween scene can become a tiny story.

That is the kind of seasonal design we want to make: something that feels right for the holiday, but still feels like CatnBloom.
